After nearly 10 years of being self employed I’m writing my first British CV/Resume. Frankly I preferred doing the much dryer German formatted one.

I wouldn’t even know how to apply for a job nowadays. Its been 20 years.

Mostly bored sick of it, which has had a knock on effect on profitability.

I’ve never had what I’d call a proper job. Always been self employed working in a couple of different sectors.

I have just done the same mate. 8 years self-employed or as director of my own company, and I’ve just had a meeting with an engineering company down the road from me about a job. 32 years old, and now all I crave is stability in an industry I can get my teeth into, and a consistent paycheck every month!

That tunnel concerns me deeply.

The curbs aren't wide enough, why is there a walkway for pedestrians? Why is there a pedestrian?! How is said pedestrian not a smear?

No more gardening. They make  industrial chains, sprockets and bearings. Looks like they have a few other things in the works as well. It’s actually a £10k (average) per year pay reduction, but hopefully a lot more scope for progression.

That sounds interesting! The pay reduction sounds quite steep, but I can imagine the likelyhood of progression and a consistent paycheck are definitely worth the initial drop in pay.

I’m not all about money, luckily, and neither is the wife . It affords me my current lifestyle, and should be so much more lucrative in the long run.

Good luck! Nothing I’m chasing is particularly lucrative , but it’s a career change I’m after. This will mostly be the first step towards that.

There was only a couple of cars that went through at a slow speed. This was mid morning, so not super busy.
